Dear
Thomas, Just wanted to tell you how much we loved Cozumel. Just
as was described by Shannon. More rustic and not Americanized. Sol
Cabanas was such a great place. Not fancy of course, but when we
got there a couple who had been coming for 12 years asked us how
we had found out about this place etc... and then said "Don't
tell us you just stumbled into paradise?" They said Sol C.
is 85% repeat business. The restaurant overhangs the ocean with
all of the beautiful fish below and crabs that wander up the stone
wall. Too perfect. I ate my weight in Mangos and other beautifully
presented fruit plates. We learned to Snorkel, (even ended up buying
snorkel equipment in town) and went several times a day just about
10 feet out from shore and right in front of the hotel. Went horseback
riding in the jungle back in to see the Mayan Ruins. "bottom
fishing with Miguel's (manager) dad and also deep sea fishing. Got
semi-dressed up every nite to snoop around and eat at the many great
restaurants. San Miguel was larger than we had thought with cruise
ships docking along the shore. But really fun quaint town which
seemed to be taking care of itself. Repairing many of the streets
etc. Good to see. Taxis came in 2-3 min. snap of a finger at Sol
Cabanas and $4-$5 ride into town. Great local museum in town and
can have beautiful breakfast in the open air overlooking the ocean.
We rented a car and drove around the whole island (about 30-40 mi)
went to the extremely wild big wave side of the island. The southern
tip. Had the famous shrimp quesedillas at the funky Bob Marley outdoor
cafe... which had peoples T-shirts hanging from the ceiling. A group
of couples of about 30 years old were there reprising their spring
break from college days and on a ladder updating their T-shirt they
had up on the ceiling. Saw many iguanas and two huge 7' ones in
iridescent colors of lime green, turquoise and baby blue.... also
one which was rust and golden. My favorite memory of the whole trip.!!!!!
We were in a small opening in the forest near the Mayan Ruins. Very
very cool. We want to thank you for all of your help and wonderful
outcome. We can't wait to go back there or somewhere.

We
thought our trip to Mexico was wonderful! The accommodations at
Porto Real were magnificent; all three of us loved it and can't
imagine staying anywhere else if (make that when) we go back. Weather
was great, we came back with great tans (which have unfortunately
faded). Food was good, it was relaxing- what more can I say. Thanks
again!

Hi
Tom! You did a great job of arranging the wedding trip for us to
Cozumel. The plane trip was fine and the hotel, Coral Princess,
was very nice. We really enjoyed the trip and just wanted to tell
you.
